The Filmation studio, headed by Lou Scheimer, is renowned as one of the major pioneers of Saturdaymorning cartoons. After It's homerun debut in 1961 with The New Adventures of Superman , Filmation turned out dozens of successful shows, spanning three decades of entertainment and creating many of the classic cartoon characters embedded in our childhood memories. In addition to Superman, Filmation produced hits like The Archies, The Adventures of Batman and Robin, Fat Albert,The Cosby Kids, and Star Trek: The Animated Series. In the 1980's Filmations scored big again with the unprecedented popularity of its shows He-Man and the Masters of the Universe, and She-Ra,Princess of Power.
Filmation marked its 25th anniversary in 1986 and in the process printed a rare celebrity poster, never circulated to the public. Digitally enhanced from an original and reprinted on a 2ft x 3ft glossy white paper, this poster contains every one of the 175 characters illustrated by Filmation. An index has also been provided, identifying each character pictured with their name and TV series. Orders are shipped within 2-3 business days and packaged in hard crush cardboard tubing for maximum protection.
